Phoenix

Placing a Phoenix, the legendary bird that rises from its own ashes, in the Fame & Glory corner has always shown great results. Fallen idols have often gone beyond even their earlier heights thanks to the image of the Phoenix.  

This is the first Phoenix, painted on first generation silk, and discovered from a tomb near Changsha, and archeological studies trace it to be over 2,500 years old. The head belongs to a golden pheasant (a long tailed game bird from Greece), it has the beak of a parrot, the body of a mandarin duck, wings of a gigantic bird of the east called a roc, the feathers of a peacock and the legs of a crane.
