Feng Shui for Power
While most of the people chose wealth over career assuming that power is one of the many
perks you enjoy if you are rich – and to some extent they are right – Edward, a politician and union leader, was candid when he consulted me.
“Power…I want power. And of course, fame. Money is no problem. It will follow,” was the
way he talked. Perhaps it reflects the reality of politics. But in his own way he was right and turned out to be a major success story.
He was suffocating in a political party, which didn’t have inner party democracy.
Dissent was a no-no. “You must sit in the power corner.” I suggested. More interesting, I measured his room and ensured that he sat in such a position that can be described, in Feng Shui arithmetic, as Power Square. If the Power equals to 100 this was 100x100. As far as I was concerned this was an experiment that turned out to be unusually successful.
To return to Ted, within days of sitting in the Power position in his office, his conflict with the party boss climaxed and he was forced to part ways. Political pundits predicted `finis` to Ted’s political career and he seemed destined for political wilderness.
“Now, no one will touch him even with a ten feet pole,” was one of the comments about his `downfall`.
Within less than a month, despite having ideologically clashed with another major political party, he found a respectable opening for himself. Overcoming the opposition in the new party, Ted has been steadily growing in the stature and has been appointed on a power position.
Calling me, he gave the good news, “And I am sure your Feng Shui has worked for me.”
Yes, the secret arithmetic of reaching the perfect position along with the Phoenix and other cures in the right places showed the results.

To return to the Power Square, I have seen as interesting results in office politics and also in the politics of joint families. It has been effective in offices, where sycophancy is the way of life and the real achievements go unnoticed. And it has successfully brought the fall of the tyrant matriarchs and patriarchs.

While the first case was Edward, the unionist and politician, the second was my personal experience. I do not want to talk about these totally private experiences in the domain of these three sectors but can describe them as incredible!
