Mail from San Francisco

Most of my clients know that I ask for a first person account whenever they are ready with good news. Most of them write brief accounts or give me their experiences over the phone, letting me fill in the gaps.
But Barry from Fremont, San Francisco, has virtually done the entire article for me. All I need to do is to quote him. But that is because he is an amateur who dreams of writing a bestseller.
I reproduce his e-mail:

Hi Mr Mohan Deep,
I still remember the day I emailed you the first time. I was curious about Feng Shui but didn't fully believe it. How could moving your work desk by a few degrees change your luck? Why should money grow fast if I shift it from one place in my bedroom to another place a few feet away?
But it has started working!

Changing Life and Luck with Feng Shui

My life and luck has changed, and as I write to you I see an unusual phenomenon around me in Fremont. It is an analogy to your Feng Shui. The temperature at 6 ft above the ground is different from the temperature on the ground. At the level where street waifs sleep, it is at least 5 degrees cooler. I am told that it is because the Earth warms up and cools off much faster than the air. I know I sound philosophical but that is the way I feel now, when I am relaxed and free from all the tensions.

Problems galore

My life was full of problems. After we relocated in Fremont, life had started going downhill. Our business of children's wear and toys, which did very well till we moved into a new house here, was in trouble. The profits had decreased. It was not losses all the way but we had all the reason to worry. Soon there were rumors that a large Chinese chain of branded clothes was to start operations in this neighborhood! This company was known for massive undercutting and I was really tense.
On home front too I was facing problems. My relationship with my wife Stella had deteriorated. We were fighting a lot and there were major differences between us. She didn't understand my financial worries and, during this phase, wanted us to go for an expensive vacation - like her rich friends - that we couldn't afford. Living in San Francisco was, even otherwise, a nightmare as far as expenses were concerned.
My son, Jim, too had become moody. His dream was to become a world- level football player but he wasn't getting the right breaks. He had lost interest in studies and often said that he didn't feel like returning to our tense and unhappy home.
Lastly, like I told you at that time, I had my own dreams. I believed that I have a book in me. I wanted to write and become famous. Of course, this was just a dream.
Then someone suggested Feng Shui.

Feng Shui as panacea

He said that Feng Shui was the panacea for all problems. I googled, came across fengshuimiracle.com. I could sense some vibration from your photograph. I thought you were the right one.
Looking back today I feel that this was the best step.
I implemented all the changes you suggested and bought every Feng Shui products and painting that you suggested. Happily, the changes were easy. In fact, some of them were so easy that I couldn’t see their relevance. How could a little change in the direction of a cash counter change the business? How could an inanimate painting influence my business?
But I was desperate.
It took less than three months for the turnaround. I got a chance to have the exclusive rights of a top brand of fashion merchandise. Mine is the only outlet in the radius of 20 kms and people have been flocking to my shop. My money worries got over. Our take in a month was more than we had ever made in this store!

Impact of Phoenix

Last week, my son stole the show at one of the football championships, and this has happened when virtually no one gave him any kind of chance. I am looking at your acrylic painting of the Phoenix hanging on the wall of Jim's bedroom and thinking of you. Now everyone is telling us that he has a good future in football, and this is what he has always wanted to do.
As for the relationship between me and Stella, I haven’t seen much change so far but I’m keeping my fingers crossed. We plan to go for a vacation in a couple of months and I hope things will work out. To be honest with you, I am not unduly worried if things don’t work out. I feel young and energetic and have come across another gorgeous lady. She seems an interesting alternative.
As for my efforts to write and complete the book of fiction, my dream, I have kept it on the back burner.

The first half of this `football game` is over. It is during what football players describe as half-time, that he is writing to me.
I don’t know whether, during the second half of the game, Barry will ever complete this unwritten book, whether his relationship with his wife will improve after this vacation or whether he will marry this gorgeous lady or carry on with both of them… Feng Shui will bring happiness, harmony and prosperity to him and his people.
