Vaastu or Feng Shui Shop in the Mall

It is not possible for any builder to build a shopping mall strictly as per Vaastu (or Vastu, as some spell it) rules. In Vaastu Shastra it is believed that the Vaastu Purusha , the lord of Vaastu Chakra , sleeps in Vaastu Chakra sleeps on the left side and rotates clockwise. Digging in the sector where his head lies is not permissible. Feng Shui originated in China. Vaastu Shastra is an Indian phenomenon. Yet, India has welcomed Feng Shui – originating from a country that was at war with India – and today more Indians are opting for Feng Shui. I have had politicians known for their staunch Hindu beliefs consulting me but asking me not to make it known.

In fact, a top Hindu leader is privately the follower or Sikhism but that has nothing to do with this article.

Last Saturday, as I visited a shopping mall at New Link Road as my son wanted to get the new mobile with its camera facility, I saw the success of Feng Shui when I looked at the nearby shop selling a famous brand of women’s apparels.
Some time back, this client had acquired a double shop in a shopping mall on the New Link Road spending a huge amount. He opened a big, internationally famous name, shop selling branded apparels. The business seemed doomed from day one and by the end of third month he was panicky. Someone suggested him my name.

“But the shopping mall is already Vaastu approved,” he argued. Moreover, he thought that like Vaastu experts, Feng Shui Master too will suggest demolitions and civil changes. And this wasn’t permissible in a mall. “No, there will not be any need for demolitions or civil changes.” I told him and also added that, “No building, no shopping mall can be built strictly as per Vaastu rules. If someone tried, he would end up constructing a Taj Mahal!”
“Why Taj Mahal?”
“It will take years to be completed.” I didn’t elaborate but focused on his problems.
My Feng Shui suggestions were few and included changing the position of his counter and addition of some bulbs and colors.
But the business success was quicker.
I am mentioning it as Ajit Shrivastva has sent me a question:
“Guruji, I am a regular on your web site and a great admirer of yourself. In the past, I have acquired your Double Blessings canvas and have benefited tremendously. I have one question. In India, we have Vastu and Feng Shui has its roots in China. What is the difference between the two and which is more effective? Do they clash or can they be blended?
“More important, often builders in India declare that there buildings are `Vastu Approved`. Is it necessary to opt for Feng Shui consultation if you have an apartment or a shop in a shopping mall? I want to buy a shop in one of the malls? Can you help me?”
I’m giving a longer, detailed reply to this question below but before that, I will sum up: YES, SHRIVASTVA I CAN CERTAINLY HELP YOU SELECT THE RIGHT SHOP IN A MALL. IN FACT, YOU MUST ALWAYS CONSULT FOR FENG SHUI EVEN IF YOUR BUILDING IS SUPPOSED TO BE VAASTU APPROVED. It is not possible for any builder to build a shopping mall strictly as per Vaastu rules.
In Vaastu Shastra it is believed that the Vaastu Purusha , the lord of Vaastu Chakra , sleeps in Vaastu Chakra sleeps on the left side and rotates clockwise. Digging in the sector where his head lies is not permissible. Here is the (rare) table that gives you this information.

Vaastu Purush     Jan     West-South-West
Vaastu Purush     Feb     West
Vaastu Purush     March     West-North-West
Vaastu Purush     April     North-North-West
Vaastu Purush     May     North
Vaastu Purush     June     North-North-East
Vaastu Purush     July     East-North-East
Vaastu Purush     August     East
Vaastu Purush     Sept     East-South-East
Vaastu Purush     Oct     South-South-East
Vaastu Purush     Nov     South
Vaastu Purush     Dec     South-South-West
In fact, most of the Vaastu experts simplify it – and even in the books they write – they describe the direction of the Vaastu Purush for every quarter! The head of the Vaastu Purush is supposed to be in the East from August to October, in South from November to January and so on. These writers don’t seem to be aware of further division of directions in East-South-East, South-South-East and so on!
My point is: WHICH BUILDER OR ARCHITECT OR BUILDING CONTRACTOR ENSURES THAT THE LABOURERS WORKING ON THE CONSTRUCTION SITE DO NOT DIG IN THE EAST SECTOR FROM AUGUST TO OCTOBER, SOUTH SECTOR FROM NOVEMBER TO JANUARY AND SO ON?
It is not practical in the modern times where, unlike centuries ago, shopping malls and residential complexes are being constructed in tight time schedules.
Also, in Vaastu the good directions for everyone depend on old Varan system. East is considered good for Brahmin , South lucky for Vaishya , West is best for the Sudra and North is auspicious for the Kshatriya ! The question is: how do you apply Vaastu rules based on Hindu caster basis to the Catholics, Sikhs, Parsis and other non-Hindus? And, even if you are a Hindu, do the builders ask you for your caste and then give you an appropriate shop or apartment?

Feng Shui provides you the help, solution and the right choices.
You can seek the help of a competent Feng Shui Master while selecting a shop in the shopping mall or an apartment in a residential building.
You can correct the flaws while consulting the master while getting the interior of the premises done.
You can also rectify the Feng Shui mistakes even if you have already occupied the premises and there will be no need for any civil changes, demolitions or construction.
