Feng Shui Directions and the Fame Corner

In Feng Shui, we derive 4 lucky and 4 unlucky directions from the pa kua number of every person. This pa kua number is, in turn derived from the date of birth (keeping Chinese Calendar, which doesn' t coincide with the Western calendar, in mind). It often happens that the lucky direction for one member of the family is unlucky direction for the other. Last week, a couple consulted me. Sheng chi (the Success Direction) for the husband turned out to be chueh ming (the Total Loss direction) for the wife.

“In which direction should our heads be? You say that west for me is (the Success direction) as my pa kua number is 6 and my husband' s pa kua number is 3 and West becomes his (the Total Loss direction).” The wife asked me.
“As you are a West person and your husband is an East person, you can sleep with both your heads pointed in West for a fortnight and in the East for another fortnight. You can alternate every day also. You can also compromise by keeping the life situation in mind. If you have an important business meeting scheduled and a lot depends on that, you may sleep with your head pointed towards West or one of the other three lucky directions. When your husband' s career or business is in focus both of you can sleep with your heads in one of his lucky directions. Remember that it is not only sleeping with your head pointed in your lucky direction but also to have the doors of your house and office, office desk, and monitor in one of the lucky directions that matters.

It is also important that you should sit facing one of your lucky directions during important meetings. I have often asked the secretaries to ensure that their bosses sit on a pre-selected chair during important meetings and this has shown very good results. One of the four lucky directions (nien yen) is mainly for Marriage and Romance. Naturally, facing northeast for a person with pa kua number 7 is fortunate in the affairs of heart. If for some reasons it is not possible to sit facing the Success Direction during a business meeting one can sit facing the other three lucky directions that are otherwise for Health, Romance and Personal Development. AVOID facing the unfortunate directions.

I have seen people suffering from various ailments and even deaths when the main door has been in lui sha (Six Killing Direction), which is also described as the Death Direction. I have seen major Financial or Career setbacks when people have resided in houses where the door faces chueh ming (the Total Loss Direction) or wu kwei (the Five Ghosts Direction) or ho hoi (the unlucky direction).

In one such instance, the life of a High Court judge changed after he shifted from his apartment. He has requested me not to mention his case so I cannot divulge any information about him but life in this unfortunate flat brought him infamy and tensions that spread to his family life too. Besides the door in wu kwei there were some other problems too in his house. The toilet was in the Fame and Recognition sector.
Toilets in the Fame sector have caused major problems in the life of people in an 11- floors building in Andheri. As the toilets are always aligned the people occupying flats on different floors have similar problems facing them. The incidents that have brought in infamy include alleged involvement in scams, housewife having a scandalous affair with her driver, suspension from a high post after being caught red-handed with marked currency, a drug-addict son and a broken engagement of a girl. There are four houses where no scandal has touched them so far – or this is what I learned – and two apartments are unoccupied.

I came to know of this situation when one of these families consulted me after the broken engagement of their daughter that had caused a lot of embarrassment to them. After Feng Shui changes that included `changing`, `correcting` and `enhancing` the Fame sector of their house, door direction (without demolition) and also the Marriage & Romance corner these people could smile again! The girl is happily married and life for them has normalized now. More interesting is another development in their life. A Mumbai daily newspaper that had published an article that defamed them apologized and carried a clarification!
