Feng Shui of Shah Rukh Khan

Indian movie star Shah Rukh Khan described his decade as 'stuff worth 20 years' when he talked about  his autobiography and true to his claim he is here, there and everywhere. You see him doing paanchvi pass and then you see him cheering for his team Kolkatta Knightriders in a different league after buying the team, doing ad films, getting into animation business in a big way, producing and of course acting. He has been able to do that because there is a lot of Yang in him.
His was a Yang persona even when he fist came to Mumbai in the wake of Fauji and Circus.
His oft-repeated line was, “Main bahut zyada bolta hoon na? lekin aap ko jhelna padega. Main aisa hi hoon…” (I talk a lot. But you will have to tolerate me.)
The only other guy who talks as fast – and yet as clear – is my friend Nari Hira, the head honcho of Magna House that publishes Stardust, Savvy, Society and other publications but that is another story of another Yang persona.
Shahrukh Khan may not be considered as macho as Sanjay Dutt or for that matter Salman Khan but it is he who `arrived` in the industry flaunting the most common Yang symbol, ever present cigarette in his mouth.
Soon, cocking a snook at the media he defiantly waggled another Yang symbol Banana.
A journalist wrote some nasty piece about Shahrukh in Cine Blitz and soon afterwards, another article was written that hinted at a passionate affair between him and Deepa Mehta (nee Sahi). An intimate scene between them for Maya Memsaab, a film being directed by Ketan Mehta was used as a peg to write the entire story. I forget the details of both the stories but remember what happened after that.
SRK was furious. He called the office of Cine Blitz and abused everyone and talked of doing this and that to them and their women. Rita Mehta (nee Karanjia) used her father Russy Karanjia' s tremendous clout (Russy was the editor of `Blitz`) to teach SRK a lesson. Karanjia approached the Police Commissioner of Mumbai in 1992 (I think it was R.D Tyagi) and SRK was arrested for `threatening the staff of Cine Blitz` and was locked up till the next working day when he was produced before the magistrate and granted bail.
A Mumbai evening paper – I think Midday – carried a picture of SRK after he was released on bail. He was defiant, unrepentant and had a half eaten banana in his hand! What he said was as offensive as the banana, he was, symbolically, showing to Rita Mehta and the world.
Wife Gauri is said to have prevailed on him not to get involved in needless brawls but quietly, silently he made good his promise.
Rita Mehta and Cine Blitz crawled in front of him for getting him on their cover.
Banana is considered the most known Yang symbol - so is the ever present cigarette between his fingers - and typically, SRK has a lot of Yang in him.
Such a person will never accept defeat.
Media almost wrote SRK off in 2000 when he made Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani and some even attributed the bad luck to moving in Mannat, his new house at Band Stand. Bad luck seemed to dog him as Hey Ram, Gajagamini, One Two Ka Four and even Asoka didn' t do well. Mohabbatein and Josh too were no great shakes at the box office. But he came back in a big way with Main Hoon Na, Kal Ho Na Ho, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, Kabhi Alvidaa Na Kehna and last year he rescued Yash Raj film from a dismal year with Chak De even as he produced the mega hit Om Shanti Om.

The picture of Shah Rukh Khan' s bungalow appeared on the back page of my book (Feng Shui for the Bold & the Beautiful, the Rich & the Famous)and I analyzed the Feng Shui of Mannat in this book. SRK' date of birth is 2nd Nov 1965 and, any student of Feng Shui will tell you, this makes his Pa Kua number 8. He is a West person and his lucky directions are Southwest (Sheng Chi), Northwest (Tien yi), West (Nien yen) and Northeast (Fu Wei).
I quote from my book “The main gate of Mannat as well as the entrance of the house, both, face west. West is his nien yen. Success is just round the corner for SRK.”
Delhi' s Midday made it page one story.
Exactly as I had analyzed, Shah Rukh Khan resumed the success yatra with `Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Ghum`. The only blot on the long list of his films is Yeh Lamhe Judai Ke, an old film (originally titled Jadoo) with Raveena Tandon which he dumped midway over some dispute with the producer. The producer G.B. Nayyar tried to convince him but he couldn' t get SRK to change his decision.
To quote from Economic Times, “SRK is the most popular actor in the UK market with eight of his films featuring in the Top 10 best opening chart for any Indian movie.”
