Happy New Year 2007 to All of you

Here is wishing you all the success, prosperity, good health, love, happiness and everything else you want from life in the New Year. While the New Year is beginning on 1st Jan, the Chinese New Year, the Year of Pig (Boar) begins on 18th Feb 2007, as per the Western Calendar, Every year as the New Year nears, my friends, clients, Feng Shui enthusiasts, students of Feng Shui and other Masters ask me about the precautions to be taken in the New Year.

In Hong Kong, they observe only the Black Hat Sect Feng Shui and don’t worry about the Flying Star Feng Shui. Nor do the people in Taiwan bother about the Flying Star Feng Shui. They consider the Form School to be sufficient.
I have been blending the Black Hat Sect Feng Shui, the Form School, the Eight Mansion Theory, and the Compass School of Feng Shui along with the Flying Star Feng Shui. My friends call it Mohan Deep School of Feng Shui and have been urging me to teach it. So far, wanting to pay personal attention to everyone who consults me, I have resisted the temptation, but in 2007, the year of the Boar, I may hold some workshops.
Till then, here is some Feng Shui advice for the year 2007.

The Grand Duke of Jupiter

In Feng Shui, if the Grand Duke of Jupiter is on your side, you are a winner and so it is important that one should never incur the wrath of the Grand Duke. All hell breaks lose if the Duke is against you.
There are some dos and don’ts for handling the Duke.
His place of residence each year changes but wherever he, is it is important that you should not disturb him with loud banging and construction.
Upsetting the Grand Duke brings bad luck.
Thus the first thing to take note of is to find out where he is located in each lunar year.
In 2007, the Year of Boar (Pig), the Grand Duke is in the North-Northwest. Though, to be exact, it is at 330°, to be on safe side, we consider 315°-345° as the direction of the Grand Duke of Jupiter in the Year of Boar.
If you are thinking of making renovations to your house that involve banging and breaking down walls, you should take note of the GRAND DUKE JUPITER.
Remember never to sit in a position that requires you to directly confront the Grand Duke.
Thus in 2007, the Grand Duke is located in the North-Northwest (315°-345°). This means you not sit in South-Southeast directly facing North-Northwest. Even if you discover that the Southeast is your best location based on the Black Hat Sect or Eight Mansion or Form School of Feng Shui, avoid using your best direction in the year 2007. The most dangerous is sitting at 135°-165°. This is confronting the Grand Duke. You can meet with losses, failures and problems. If you know your compass, you can sit in the East-South-East (120°-135°).
For your house, knowing where the Grand Duke is located helps ensure that you do not disturb him by having renovations or construction activity in this sector. Thus in 2007 you should not undertake any renovation in this sector of your house, since this will disturb the Grand Duke. You must postpone any planned renovations to the following year. To break this rule is to invite misfortune. The Grand Duke does not like being disturbed or touched in any way.
And never ever confront the grand Duke in other ways. Old Chinese warlords always avoided advancing towards the enemy if it meant moving in a direction that represented the Grand Duke's location for that year.
They always preferred to engage in battle with the Grand Duke behind them rather than in front of them. Thus in 2007, if you have to attend an important meeting or negotiation, do not sit facing North-Northwest (315°-345°). Instead sit with the North-Northwest directly behind you. This way, the Grand Duke will be supporting you.
Remedy: Acquire a Pi Yao and place it facing North-Northwest. This Pi Yao can be moved by 30 degrees clockwise every year.
If you are not confident about your decisions in this area and your architect / interior decorator is not familiar with Feng Shui, you are welcome consult me before starting the renovation.

The Three Killings or Saram Saat

In addition to the Grand Duke of Jupiter, it is also necessary to take note of the place of the Sarm Saat or literally the place of the Three Killings. This is a location of conflict with the Grand Duke Jupiter and it is a location that should be avoided.
The location of Sarm Saat in 2007, the Year of Boar, is in the West.
You must never have the Saam Saat or Three Killings behind you in any year. Thus in 2007, in the Year of the Boar (Pig), you must not sit with the direction West behind you. This means you should not sit facing East.
You may however face the Three Killings directly. This means that in 2007 you can sit facing West. Confronting the Three Killings will not hurt you but having it behind you will. It is far more advantageous to sit directly facing West, thereby facing the Three Killings head-on.
When you are planning to do house repairs and renovations, you must not do it in sectors that house the Three Killings. Thus in 2007, this means you should not undertake any renovation in the West sector of your house. You may, however, undertake renovations in sectors that are opposite the Three Killings.
Please note that at all times you must follow both this as well as the guidelines on the Grand Duke... these are simply precautions to take when undertaking renovations.

The Deadly Five Yellows

The last taboo is the Deadly Five Yellows.
The location of the Five Yellows in 2007 is Northeast.
Hang a five rods wind chime with a pagoda and bells in this area, to nullify the effect of the Five Yellows.
Like in the case of the Grand Duke of Jupiter, digging and renovation in the Northeast is a big no-no.
Note: If you are doing complete interior and renovation, the above restrictions – the Grand Duke of Jupiter, the Three Killings and the Five Yellows - do not apply.
