Feng Shui Before Renovation

Holidays may be the right time for renovation. But before starting any renovation that involves banging and breaking down walls, it is necessary to take note of what the Flying Star School of Feng Shui describes as the Grand Duke Jupiter. He must not be annoyed with loud noises of the hammers and drilling machines. Upsetting the Grand Duke brings bad luck.
Before you start the renovation, it is necessary to locate his direction in your house, to get his support for the changes. To avoid any confrontation with him you should never sit facing that direction. Even if the Duke is in your best direction, you must avoid it like plague. It would be worse than facing your Death direction! The Chinese have always believed in it. They never let their army advance if their enemy was approaching from the direction of the Grand Duke Jupiter.
In 1991, Iraqi President Saddam Hussein’s forces were in confrontation with the Allies. The Allies advanced from the Southwest, the direction occupied by the Grand Duke during 1991. Saddam’s army advanced towards the direction of the Grand Duke and thus suffered heavy losses. The Duke aided the Allies’ victory.
Now, 12 years later, the war clouds have gathered again. This time the Duke is in South-South-West. US-led forces plan to sweep north from Kuwait towards the oil fields in Basera and Baghdad. This time too the Duke seems on the side of US President George Bush though things will become clear in the next few days. Interestingly, in the war between India and China in 1962, the Grand Duke was in the East-North-East! And our
jawans couldn’t win the war against the Duke.
In the likely event of the war on Iraq too, we will be able to see the effect of the Grand Duke Jupiter when the directions of the American bases become known.

To return to the renovation of your house, the FAQ:
Q: I am planning to shift to a new house. At what stage do I consult the Feng Shui expert for best possible results?
A: The first time the Feng Shui expert comes into the picture is when you’re buying a property. The plan, position, color, shape and layout of the property (whether it is a small flat or shop or a piece of land) need to be studied to know whether it is in harmony with you.
I am often asked to choose the `perfect` flat from two, three or even four short listed flats or shops and think this is the best way to prevent future problems. However, if you have already bought a property and plan to move in, the Feng Shui consultant can guide you for better placement of your furniture. One wrongly placed heavy piece of furniture can suppress a Career, another mistake in Wealth area can cause money loss and some error of placement can trigger the beginning of a divorce! Students’ performance may suffer adversely if sitting in an incorrect location. I have seen cases where a booming business has immediately gone down without any apparent explanation, after acquiring a new shop or office.
The Feng Shui expert may come in the picture even at a later stage. If he knows his job, the changes can be incorporated without any demolition.
Q: But I do not need to consult a Feng Shui expert if the entire building has already been made as per Feng Shui or Vaastu norms?
A: You do need the Feng Shui advice. The building may have been built according to these norms but it is equally important to ensure that the Feng Shui of your flat is right for you. One flat (or shop or office) may be fortunate for one but very unlucky for the other. Two shops have the same plan, their doors may open in the same direction but one may flourish and the other may perish. The inmates of one flat may mint money and the residents of a similarly built flat exactly below them may be in debts. Personal Feng Shui is vital.
