Wife who 'was not getting enough' is happy now

"I am not getting enough,” the wife confided in me in an e-mail. She was one of the several thousands of surfers who have visited fengshuimiracle to seek Feng Shui consultation. As usual, I asked her to send her house floor plan and some color photographs of the interior of her house, with the focus on the bedroom feng shui.
I noticed a large poster of scenic beauty. It was a beautiful photograph but just-not-right for the feng shui of the bedroom. The scene included a large pond. Pond or lake or any other water body if seen from the bedroom is bad Feng Shui, and a picture or painting of a pond, lake or any other water body in the bedroom is worse.
Among the many changes that I suggested (including the cures for the ceiling beams, another taboo in any house) was replacing the scene of the lake with one of my Feng Shui paintings: Lovers in the Moonlight.
I also suggested adding some yellow color in the curtains. There was a specific reason for yellow too. Colors play a major role in enhancing aspects of one's life, and I have noticed that `incorrect` colors, or colors that clash with the ruling element of the corner, cause havoc. This havoc is more visible in bedroom.
Unfortunately, the role of the colors is under-rated by amateur practitioners and students of Feng Shui.
In less than a fortnight after she placed this painting on the wall I indicated, she sent me an excited letter.
“FENG SHUI FOR BEDROOM HAS WORKED! Our love life has changed, and it has transformed everything else about us. Thanks.”
We spend a third of our life asleep and this is why the Feng Shui of the bedroom is the most important. In ancient times, and even in large houses in modern times, the bedroom was an area reserved for sleeping and love making. But modern life in large cities, where there is a premium on prices, bedrooms are used for multiple activities.
Often, bedrooms are used as home offices. Computers have become an integral part of the bedrooms, and there lies the rub.
The nature of the bedroom is yin (passive), unlike the yang (active) of the living room.
Yin ensures good sleep and a happy love life.
Perhaps because the bedroom is a passive area, there are more no-no guidelines.
Among several Feng Shui rules involving the bedroom is that, if you cannot keep the computer out of the bedroom, you should cover the monitor with a piece of thick cloth before retiring for the night. The convex screen of the monitor emits yang energy; energy you can feel if you bring your hand close to the screen immediately after turning it off. While the hand can sense it for a few moments, it remains active for longer duration..
On a more practical level, the person who works on a computer – or even chats (or cheats?) – brings his business/affairs/problems as extra baggage in his love life. The transit is too quick and often adversely affects the love life or sleep or both. The best thing is to have a gap of at least half-an-hour.
It is important that the ambience in the bedroom is soothing and such that it makes you feel secure in sleep. The bed should be comfortable and pillows and cushions should be soft.
A sloping ceiling in the bedroom is bad Feng Shui as the repressive ceiling can easily act on the unconscious mind of the person(s) sleeping below. An overhead beam positioned directly above the bed is even worse. Besides being a threat to a good night' s sleep and love life, the beam affects the parts that are exactly below it.
Mirrors are another taboo in the bedroom.
A mirror, if placed directly opposite the bed can be a major threat to a peaceful sleep. The Feng Shui explanation: your aura leaves your body when you sleep. The reflection disturbs it and causes a fitful sleep.
A mirror remains a taboo even if it is not exactly opposite the bed. The presence of a mirror that reflects the bed is symbolic of the presence of an outsider in one' s bedroom; something that can attract infidelity in marital life.
Sleeping with one' s head or feet towards the bedroom door is taboo. And like everything else in Feng Shui, there are reasons. If your head is towards the main door, you cannot see anyone who enters the room, making you a little uncomfortable. And feet towards the door is not considered auspicious as coffins are carried out this way!
The most forbidden thing in the bedroom of a couple is the presence of water. Water, as an element, is prohibited as it clashes with the element that plays a vital role in one' s love life…the Fire element. Perhaps this is why when a wife claims to have a headache (real or imaginary), she is considered a wet blanket. And when a husband is too tired too often, he is described as thanda.
Plants, whether living, artificial or dry should be avoided. Living plants emit carbon dioxide and hence their presence is unpleasant while sleeping. Cacti and bonsai arrangements should be avoided. According to Feng Shui principles, Cactus denotes a bad relationship and a Bonsai plant adversely upsets growth.
If you do opt for artificial plants, the colours should be yellow or red. While yellow signifies the durability of relationships, red is the colour of passion. Dried arrangements should be avoided as they are comprised of plants that are dead, and therefore contain negative energy.
Shoes and chappals should not be brought into the bedroom. When out, they usually pick up negative energy and therefore should not be worn into the house. Removing shoes at or near the entrance is a good practice.
