Son Rises Again

Similarities in Feng Shui impact may one day turn it into exact science. The rules are same whether it is an auto-dealer in Ohio or a Punjabi family in Chandigarh or, for that matter a Parsi couple in Mumbai.
There was a quality of déjà vu when, last week, a Parsi couple asked for Feng Shui cures and suggestion as the patriarch of the family has virtually thrown them out of home, cutting them off from his will and reducing his son to the level of errand boy. And his daughter and her husband seem to have taken over the property and business.
I gave them an advice that has effectively worked in a similar instance nearly two years ago. Here is the earlier case.
“My father is a tyrant. He rules over all of us with an iron rod. And my brother-in-law has hypnotized him, managed to be in his good books and manipulated him to be against me. I want this rule of terror to end,” pleaded Rahul Ahluwalia when he approached me in January 2002.
“Like Ek Rishtaa – the Bond of Love?” I smiled. This Amitabh-Akshay-Mohnish film had a similar story. (This has happened in case of a publishing family from Mumbai where the son has been exiled to London but lets not digress.)
Rahul wanted me for Feng Shui décor of his office and initially met me without the knowledge of Veerendar Singh. Veerendar was averse to Feng Shui but has agreed for renovation.
But before that a look at this auto-dealer in Ohio and how he reduces even his creditors to stammer and apologize for bothering him.
A private elevator takes you up to his office built above the showroom. As you come out of the elevator you him sitting behind a huge desk placed on a raised platform at a distance of 15 meters that seem a kilometer. Walking all the way towards him and taking one of the two small seats in front of him does the magic. The front legs of these seats are shorter further making you feel insecure! Dealing with him is a battle that you have already lost.
I sat with Rahul and my architect to design the interior of his cabin. Among two dozen different Feng Shui suggestions, we also incorporated a hidden platform to raise his position. Feng Shui in his office décor was subtle to the point of being invisible. An idea to force everyone to bow before entering Rahul' s cabin and another to `virtually` suppress his brother-in-law too was implemented. An oil painting that I had done of phoenix became a part of décor
The impact was instant.
Now, two years later, Rahul is in full control. Veerendar doesn' t take any decision without consulting his son. The son-in-law has become persona non grata. The son has risen again.
