Promotion slips out of Sandhya's hand

I have been trying hard for promotion in my job but everytime I feel I am close to it....It just slips out of my hand...I fail to give consistent performance and it really demotivates me...people who have joined after me have been promoted and have got salary hike but I am stil where I was the day I joined this office...nothing seems to work
