Single mother Niebdita Sahu’s problems
I am a highly qualified woman employee of Indian Railways. Duo to some difficult family problems I had to join this organization in a position way below my qualifications. Though I have thought of switching over to better organizations (essentially private) for better perks and position, but I can't really do that as I have some unavoidable circumstances which force me to stay back. I have a 12 year old male child to take care single handedly. Hence before taking any decision, I put him forward and just stop thinking further. The biggest problem for me is relocation and the other is job security. I can't relocate out of Bhubaneswar where I am currently posted and I am the sole bread winner.
Keeping the above in view, please suggest me some remedial ways to find feasible solutions to how can I go further in my career. The job I am doing in the current set up is quite a decent one related with Information Technology. I am quite happy with it, but I can't see any scope of progress in the set up. Moreover, as you know, in a government job, promotions happen once in a while only. Please advice on these aspects. Thank you. Regards
