Business Feng Shui

Clients who have approached me with their success stories may please bear with me. Due to space limitation I can’t accommodate all of them. Some may have to wait and some like Jagdish Makhijani may find mention twice.
I have written about him earlier, describing his story as a `fairy tale`! Now read part two.

The story so far…

Jagdish approached me in the beginning of this year (2002). He was depressed and looked it. The last 3 years had been very bad for his business. He had lost a lot of money in the garment business and disposed off the goods that were not selling. His total loss was over 5 lakhs in a year. Then he started a cyber-café, hoping that this most happening business would bring in the moolah to him too. It didn’t help. The Cyber-café only added to his losses. "Sir, I am in debt. It is like walking in an endless, dark tunnel without a ray of hope. Can Feng Shui help?" he asked.

He had a daughter who had a Diploma in Computers but had not been successful in finding a decent job. Makhijani was also worried about her marriage. His house was located just behind his shop. I visited both. Among the many obstacles that I noticed were two beams on the ceiling. Beams, like I always say, suppress growth. The cash counter was just below one beam and he was sitting facing his `five ghosts direction`. Worse, the Wealth & Good Fortune corner was incomplete. There were similar problems in the Career & Opportunities area too.

In his home, there was a mirror with a crack. The mirror was placed in the Career & Opportunities area and to make matters worse, the crack was spread from the lower center to the right hand side. I suggested that the mirror be replaced. There was also a need for several other changes, which were incorporated. Four months later, he phoned and thanked me. "My life has changed," he exclaimed. First, his daughter got a good job. Second, his bua (father’s sister) expired and left him everything she owned. She was a spinster and had stayed with him for six months five years before. Enthusiastic, he was planning to open a showroom where he would sell TVs, fridges and other electronic consumer durables. "Could you please take a look at the shop I plan to lease?" he requested.

As if a fairy had waved her magic wand, the dark tunnel of depression and debts has ended for Jagdish. The story didn’t end there. I inspected the shop and gave the green signal. I supervised the positioning of the cash counter as well as the locations where the goods were to be placed (there are certain parts where every item sells fast). I organized the way he was to sit and amplified various corners, completed the others and did the complete Feng Shui of the shop.

Last week Jagdish informed me that under a company scheme he got an award for selling a certain brand of TV. The award included a free trip to Bangkok. Everything on this trip (including a sensuous Chinese hostess) was on the house. By the way, in the bedroom of this Chinese courtesan he noticed the same `Fook` symbol, which I had got painted for his office.

In absence of husband…

The other example is about a Punjabi housewife living in a multistorey building off Yari Road. Her husband was having financial problems in his business. "Inquiries bahut hoti hain lekin baat latak jaati hai," she told me. She had suggested Feng Shui to her husband, but he had, understandably, brushed aside the idea of spending money when he was already having money problems. She approached me when he was in Chennai trying to recover some dues and the Feng Shui was completed in his absence. On his return, he frowned when he learned of the changes but it was too late. Now, two months later, this lady comes to me along with him. She has big grin on her face as she introduced her husband to me. "Main na kehndi thi ke Mohanji se Feng Shui kara lo. Dekha na kaise problems solve ho gaye?" Her husband nods his head happily and says, "Shouldn’t we do the Feng Shui of our manufacturing unit in Vapi? Don’t you think it will benefit us?"

And so another assignment begins…
