The Energy of old paintings

Last week I advised Andrew to get rid of the paintings and prints hanging on the walls of his room. The neglected, dusty frames were a story of negligence that had seeped into his life. The negative energy (Sha) hit me as soon as I entered his house. In fact, the negative energy touched me even before that, as he was with me in my car to show the way. The negativity around has changed Andrew. He is a sensitive, kind-hearted person who deserves a quiet, peaceful life now in his sixties.
But this is not happening. Andrew is tense, hyperactive, uneasy and unhappy.
Not only the old frames in his house but also the peeling paint on the walls, the clutter in the large cupboards and some unnecessary furniture are all adding to the mess in his house. The mess in his house has lead to the mess in his life.
I visualize his house if he follows all the suggestions I give him: A clean house with no clutter, walls painted in subtle shades of ivory, cream, green and pink. The unnecessary furniture and frames given to the kabadis, old clothes donated to an NGO to pass on to the needy. A single cupboard, a single bed, a writing desk and chair in his bedroom and a single bed and a cupboard for his man Friday.

A dining table, wall unit, TV set, water fountain and very few Feng Shui products I have suggested for his living room. And a painting of the earth with symbol of longevity and good health and the painting of fire for social recognition of whatever he does.

It will be a clean, well-organized, and airy apartment just right for him and his manservant. There will be Positive energy (Chi). Andrew is so kind-hearted that he continues to retain his old man Friday despite the latter’s chronic drinking problem. The changed surroundings will change his life. I can visualize the change and even see him smiling and content.

The paintings and their impact on the surroundings have always been of deep interest to me and I have studied their impact on the life of people.
All objects carry the energy of the material they are made of, the energy of their creator and the energy of all their owners. Antiques contain the energy of all places they have been kept and the energies of all the past owners. Often, the more powerful influence the older energies.
Relating this info with the Feng Shui of paintings was not difficult. Every inanimate object absorbs the energy that hangs around it. If you keep a crystal pyramid on your desk, you will be able to see the negative energy in the form of dust particles in the pyramid. This is why a telephone, once used by JRD Tata, and now with one of his former staff members, is not only a memento, but also a lucky mascot.
For the same reasons, I have seen officers in the IAS and IPS taking their chairs along with them to new postings!
A film star I know, came across a well-stuffed, elegant chair while in the USA,. One of the American Presidents had sat on this chair once. The star purchased it at a high cost, carted it back to India, and made it a part of his office décor. But the spell of good luck in his career ended with the arrival of this chair! Whether the chair was from the President’s early days of struggle or he had used it during the successful period when he ruled America or, worse, when he was in trouble, is not known.
And the same way, mementos from a business that has closed down bring along bad luck and negative energy. I have seen this happening repeatedly.
Last year, Alistair contacted me for Feng Shui consultation. He was having major problems after he lost his job, as the company closed down. He got a decent settlement and thought that he would be able to start his own business.
He struggled for six months. “Life has become tough. A major part of my settlement has gone into business and I am very worried. I was getting a very good salary and never had to worry about money. Now, every day is a struggle,” he told me. His only consolation was that his wife had a job.
Alistair was desperate. I checked his home for Feng Shui and suggested better placements for his desk and other furniture. However, it was only when he told me that he had brought an old computer and the old chair and desk of his boss besides a couple of framed paintings from his old office that I understood the Feng Shui reasons for his problems.
It was obvious that, along with the old furniture and frames, he had also brought the work culture and worse, the negative energy of a failing business.
I advised him to immediately get rid of all these old things as well as all the clutter. I suggested afew steps to get rid of the negative energy hanging around in his house. It is only after the negative energy is removed that the positive energy can come in.
The placement of Feng Shui products and paintings came much later.
Six months later, now, Alistair is happy, successful and content. His business is growing. He is not out of trouble yet, but the business he did last month is much more than the sleepy activity six months ago. “I am quite positive about my success now. I am on the road to success. Your Phoenix is going to work for me. I will rise like never before,” said Alistair when he called me a few days back.

The first story about Andrew relates to this week and the result will become known in future. Alistair’s experience is a promising success story that will climax into what we call a Feng Shui miracle.
The third is the Feng Shui Miracle. Pradyuman (name changed) and his wife, Bhumika have invited me for the first birthday of their daughter. Pradyuman also gave me the good news that he has opened another office in Dubai. He is very keen to employ Feng Shui for the proper placement of him and his staff and everything else. A few months back, I saw his office and chose one of the two doors the premises had and advised him to close the other door. Every Feng Shui suggestion I gave him is still fresh in my mind, and now, he has told me the good news about his business expansion. When I meet him for his Dubai office, I will get more details about his fascinating success.
